Travis Scott on Executive Producing 'NBA 2K19' Soundtrack: 'It's an Honor'

Not only does Travis Scott have the No. 1 album in the country right now, but it's also just been announced that he'll be serving as executive producer on the soundtrack for NBA 2K19.

It's a good time to be Travis Scott. Not only does the Houston rapper have the No. 1 album in the country right now with ASTROWORLD, but it's just been announced that he'll be serving as executive producer on the soundtrack for NBA 2K19. "It's an honor," Travis explained in the announcement video. "I always like the chance to curate music to fit a lifestyle and 2K is definitely a lifestyle." To coincide with the announcement, La Flame sat down with Lebron James to talk about the role.

The soundtrack for the game will include a number of songs from ASTROWORLD alongside music from some of hip-hop and pop's most current acts. It's no surprise, then, that there's some huge names on the soundtrack, including Migos and Lil Uzi Vert, as well as rising acts like Brockhampton and Chinese rap group Higher Brothers.

Not only has Travis personally selected songs included on the game's soundtrack, but he'll be appearing in the game as himself, too. "What does it mean for you to not only play it but just be a part of the 2K Franchise," LeBron asked. "It means a lot, cause you know it reaches a lot of people in different communities, so to be able to be in the game it just inspired me," he replied.

Previous games in the NBA 2K series have received praise for their soundtracks, which have consisted of modern rap and pop songs, as well some rock classics thrown into the mix. To get a taste of what you'll be hearing in the game next month, listen to the full soundtrack below.

NBA 2K19 releases Sept. 11 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Microsoft Windows, and Nintendo Switch.
