Oklahoma City Thunder veteran forward Carmelo Anthony had a rough 2017-18 season, so of late he's heard plenty of trash talk from fans. He fired back at his critics on Instagram Monday, telling his haters to "duck sick."

If you don't understand why he felt the need to chirp back at his critics, just read some of the comments. Fans are convinced Melo is washed.

This isn't the first time Melo has gotten a bit testy on social media since the Thunder's season ended with a first-round loss to the Utah Jazz. In late May, Melo commented "FOH" on a post claiming the Cavs' Kyle Korver actually had a better career than Melo.

Melo, a 10-time All-Star, had arguably his worst season as a pro this year. Playing alongside Russell Westbrook and Paul George, he averaged 16.2 points, 5.8 rebounds, and 1.3 assists per game. Many expected he'd return to "Olympic Melo" form as the other stars would create open looks, but Anthony shot only 35.7 percent from downtown.

Now, the Thunder are reportedly hoping to pass Anthony off to another team. Anthony, however, has a player option to opt-in for $28 million next season, and it'd be shocking if he turned that down—or if Oklahoma City could find a team willing to take Anthony and his massive salary off its hands.

Melo has always loved using social media to communicate with his "fans."
