Roseanne Barr Reveals How Her Character Will Die in 'Roseanne' Spin-Off

Roseanne Barr says her character on the upcoming 'Roseanne' spin-off, 'The Conners' is set to be killed by an opioid overdose, which ABC has yet to confirm. ABC canceled the 'Roseanne' reboot in late May, following backlash from Barr’s racist tweets aimed at Barack Obama's former aide.

Roseanne Barr’s character on the upcoming Roseanne spin-off, The Conners is set to be killed by an opioid overdose—or at least that’s what Barr told Brandon Straka on his YouTube show Walk Away.

According to Barr, her character’s addiction to pills was a story line she created from last season, and writers for The Conners have decided to use it.

“It wasn’t enough to [fire me], they had to so cruelly insult the people who loved that family and that show,” she told Straka. “There’s nothing I can do about it. It’s done. It’s over,” she said. “There’s no fight left.”

ABC canceled the Roseanne reboot in late May, following backlash from Barr’s racist tweets aimed at Barack Obama's former aide Valerie Jarrett. Barr tweeted that Jarrett, who is African American and was born in Iran, is the result of when “muslim brotherhood & planet of the apes had a baby.” Roseanne premiered in March.

While Barr says this is the way her character will go out, ABC has yet to confirm that her character dies from an overdose.
