Premiere: BIA Parodies the "Hollywood" Lifestyle in New Video

BIA drops the video for "Hollywood," which is featured on her new EP 'NICE GIRLS FINISH LAST: CUIDADO.'

Having toured with acts such as Ariana Grande and Pusha-T, i am OTHER/RCA artist BIA has managed to find herself in a position that many people dream of, but as seen in her new video for the Murda Beatz and CuBeatz-produced “Hollywood,” she's also witnessed the pitfalls that come with trying to chase fame and fortune.

“‘Hollywood’ makes fun of the superficial shit that everyone takes too seriously in L.A.” BIA told Complex. She manages to accomplish this goal in the visual, where she parodies a lifestyle of excess. Rappers returning rented cars, prescription drug-fueled dinner parties, and doctors performing body modification surgeries on top of luxury cars are among the moments highlighted.

While BIA documents her everyday surroundings to illustrate the “luxuries” of Hollywood life, she utilizes role-reversals as a method to provide social commentary. “I wanted to take some of that power back with a message in this visual by having fun reversing roles and showing how far people will really go to make it.” For example, BIA, along with her Hollywood girlfriends, host a casting call, in which older men can be seen reading lines and stripping with intentions of scoring a role.
