According to a subsequent CNNreport, three people were killed and two others wounded. The location of the shooting, per the report, was a Rite Aid distribution center in Harford County. The center employs approximately 1,000 people and is used by the drugstore company for receiving and processing items for delivery. "This is part of a large facility that is a distribution center," Rite Aid spokesperson Susan Henderson said. "The shooting happened adjacent to the primary building."

The spokesperson added that, from what she's been told, the location had since been secured. In a press conference later Thursday, police confirmed that a suspect was in custody and in "critical condition" at a nearby hospital. Additional information on the shooting was not immediately available at the time of this writing.

Maryland Governor Larry Hogan is actively monitoring developments regarding the shooting and will be prepared to "offer any support" when needed. "We are closely monitoring the horrific shooting in Aberdeen," Hogan said. "Our prayers are with all those impacted, including our first responders."
