Russell Westbrook on Ricky Rubio's Triple-Double: ‘I’ll Shut That Sh*t Off Next Game’

Ricky Rubio became the first Jazz player since John Stockton in 2001 to achieve a postseason triple-double.

During Utah Jazz's 115-102 win over Oklahoma City Thunder on Saturday, Ricky Rubio became the first Jazz player since John Stockton in 2001 to achieve a postseason triple-double. The guard finished with 26 points, 11 rebounds, and 10 assists. "Having my name next to his name is an honor," Rubio said, according to ESPN. "I don't know what else to say. It's huge. Have huge respect for him, and playing here is great because I know how important a point guard he is for this franchise."

Oklahoma City's Russell Westbrook wasn't too impressed with Rubio and thinks he will be able to take him during Monday's Game 4.

"He made some shots," Westbrook said in the post-game conference. "Too comfortable. But I'ma shut that shit off next game, though. Guarantee that."

Rubio's numbers were just a slight bump from Game 2, where he finished with 22 points, nine assists, and seven rebounds. "I think the first two games, I wasn't being effective in the midrange area," he said. "It's been something I've been working on. I felt good about, but it wasn't going in. But tonight, it felt good seeing the first couple go in. It's just the way we played. We got open shots, and it's easy to make shots when you are open."

Westbrook was seen receiving treatment on his upper body during the second half of Saturday's game but no injury has been reported. Now, the Thunder is down 2-1 heading to Game 4 in Utah with a very real possibility that the Carmelo Anthony-Paul George-Westbrook superteam could be bounced in the first round.
