Bad news for Utah Jazz fans: Ricky Rubio will likely face 10 days off the court thanks to an unfortunate hamstring injury. On Saturday, league sources confirmed the news to ESPN.

During Friday's game against Oklahoma City Thunder, the point guard appeared to become injured after performing a behind-the-back pass to Rudy Gobert about halfway through the first quarter. After wincing and limping a little bit, Rubio soon exited the game and did not return. After he left the court, rookie Donovan Mitchell took over most of the point guard tasks for a majority of what was left of the game. Utah ended up clinching the series against Oklahoma City with a 96-91 win.

Rubio, 27, underwent an MRI on Saturday in Salt Lake City. While there is a little bit of hope coming from the Utah Jazz organization that Rubio may be able to return before 10 days if his injury is re-evaluated, league sources told ESPN it depends on how speedy his response to rehabilitation will be.

Earlier in April, Rubio dealt with some hamstring soreness and missed a few late-season games. He came back swinging and recently had 22 points, 7 rebounds, and 9 assists in Game 2 and 26 points, 11 rebounds, and 10 assists in Game 3 against Oklahoma City. .

Rubio was acquired by Utah during an off-season trade with Minnesota, which is where he played his first six NBA seasons. Game 1 of the Western Conference will be on Sunday. Utah will play the Houston Rockets.
