Social media has humanized Lonzo Ball this season. Because of his outspoken father, people look for every opportunity they can find to take shots at Lonzo—but between his own light-hearted posts and the hilarious posts of teammate and fellow rookie Kyle Kuzma, we've become privy to an endearing persepctive on the former UCLA guard.
Take, for example, his recent Instagram Stories post: it featured Lonzo dancing shirtless in his hotel room to BlocBoy JB's "Shoot." Just a 20-year-old kid having some fun.
The Lakers had some downtime—a two-day break—and clearly he enjoyed it.
Los Angeles is back in action Thursday, as the Lakers will square off with the Pelicans, who are currently No. 5 in the West, in New Orleans at 8 p.m. EST. The Lakers are 31-39, and they've lost three in a row, but this season has been a promising one for fans of the purple and gold.
With cap space to potentially sign two max free agents this offseason, the Lakers are in prime position moving forward. Even if they can't land LeBron James or Paul George this summer, they'll have the opportunity to make a run at a talented group of free agents in 2019.
The Lakers are likely thrilled with Lonzo's progress, too. Though he struggled with his shot early in the season, he's really come on of late. He's averaging 10.1 points, 7.1 assists, 6.8 rebounds, and 1.8 steals per game while shooting 31.5 percent from three.
