As this nation continues dealing with one important issue after another, Donald Trump remains steadfast in his feud with the NFL players of color who practice their First Amendment rights by kneeling during the national anthem in an effort to raise awareness towards social injustice in this country.
In a sit-down with Sean Hannity, Trump revealed that he honestly believes if the NFL suspended Colin Kaepernick after the first time he took a knee during the playing of the national anthem, the former quarterback would have never done it again. "Frankly the NFL should have suspended him for one game and he would have never done it again," he said, per TMZ. Trump adds that if someone were to do it a second time, a stricter punishment would be handed down, and a season-long suspension would be given to any player who knelt for a third time.
If Trump was so concerned about how the NFL handled their players staging a protest during the national anthem, then he should have tried to buy a team (whoops—he tried and failed at that) or become the league commissioner instead of running for the presidency of the United States. While Trump continues to provide his two cents on this issue, there are people struggling to stay alive in Puerto Rico who need more than a paper towel roll shot in their direction. There are people mourning the death of someone who lost their life in Las Vegas. But this guy wants to talk about players disrespecting a flag that he disrespected a long time ago.
