In recent months, LeBron James has been really open and honest about how he wants to try and make a real run at surpassing Michael Jordan’s legacy. It obviously won’t be easy for him to do it—and if you believe everything that guys like Skip Bayless say, there’s absolutely no way he can do it, no matter what he does—but LeBron has made it his "personal goal" to chase down MJ.

LeBron’s friend and former teammate Dwyane Wade doesn’t think there’s anyway it’s going to happen, though. While speaking with ESPN on Thursday, he was asked if he thinks LeBron can surpass MJ and take the throne from him. He laughed—and said no. "No, it’s not possible," Wade said. "It’s not possible."

Wade did go on to say that LeBron could "tie it." But in doing so, he said that "there’s no 19th hole," which is, according to ESPN, a reference to a golf analogy Wade made back in 2012 to explain the MJ/LeBron dynamic. Back then, Wade said that both players are on the golf course but that "Michael’s on the 18th hole" while "LeBron is somewhere on like the fourth hole." Since then, LeBron has played through quite a few holes.

"I think last year—not only in my eyes, but in a lot of people’s eyes—really put him…he’s on the 15th hole right now," Wade said. "And he’s on his way, for sure."

But in Wade’s opinion, he’ll never be able to pass MJ on the 18th hole. "You can’t go past it," he said. "How can you? That’s as great as it gets, man. The only thing you can do, like I said, is be A-1, A-B. There’s no way higher."

You can probably expect that quote to be taped up in LeBron's locker by the end of the afternoon.
