This Rare Nike Air Yeezy Sample Was Purchased From Kanye West's Friend

Ian Hundiak explains how he came into possession of a Nike Air Yeezy sample tested by Kanye West before the release.

Before his Boost co-sign fueled Adidas' turnaround, Kanye West designed two Yeezy sneakers with Nike, the first releasing in Spring 2009. Before that, there was a famously long sampling process, during which weartested his signature sneaker at various events, such as the 2008 Grammy Awards. Once West got the information he needed, he'd pass pairs off to close friends and associates, which only begins to explain how Ian Hundiak came into possession of this ultra rare, one-of-one Nike Air Yeezy sample.

As Hundiak explains, this early production sample was worn by West, then given to once close friend GLC. GLC then listed the shoes on eBay, prompting a quick 'Buy It Now' from an eager Chicagoan. Hundiak explains what makes this sample different from the retail version in the video above.
