On Thursday night, Netflix announced it had renewed the dramedy series for a third season. The news was announced in a social media clip featuring Giancarlo Esposito, the narrator of Dear White People who also plays a member of the show’s fictional secret society the Order of X.

“Now that I have your attention, this message is being delivered to you on behalf of the Order of X,” Esposito says in the video above. “I come with a message of truth. To clarify the false information that’s being disseminated around the world today: Dear White People will be returning to Netflix for a season 3. We’ll meet you there.”

Dear White People is based on Justin Simien’s 2014 film of the same name. The series follows a group of black students at a predominately white Ivy League college, where they must navigate a racially divided landscape while dealing with personal conflicts. The show, which debuted in spring 2017, has received widespread praise for its comedic and smart storylines that address timely issues, such as feminism, sexuality, online harassment, and, of course, discrimination.

The series’ ensemble cast includes Logan Browning, Brandon P. Bell, DeRon Horton, Antoinette Robertson, John Patrick Amedori, and Ashley Blaine. Season three of Dear White People is expected to premiere in 2019 and will span 10 episodes.
