Oprah Winfrey is taking cues from her celebrity friends and putting her money where her mouth is.

Just hours after George and Amal Clooney publicly pledged half a million dollars to the anti-gun March for Our Lives rally, Oprah took to social media to announce her own generous donation.

“George and Amal, I couldn’t agree with you more. I am joining forces with you and will match your $500,000 donation to ‘March For Our Lives,’” Oprah tweeted Tuesday night. “These inspiring young people remind me of the Freedom Riders of the 60s who also said we’ve had ENOUGH and our voices will be heard.”

March for Our Lives is an upcoming gun control rally that was organized in the wake of the deadly shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida. The tragedy left 17 people dead, including 14 students.

“March For Our Lives is created by, inspired by, and led by students across the country who will no longer risk their lives waiting for someone else to take action to stop the epidemic of mass school shootings that has become all too familiar,” the rally’s website reads. “In the tragic wake of the seventeen lives brutally cut short in Florida, politicians are telling us that now is not the time to talk about guns. March For Our Lives believes the time is now.”

The rally will take place March 24 in Washington, D.C., where protestors will call on federal lawmakers to pass gun control legislation.

In addition to Oprah and the Clooneys, the march has received considerable donations from Hollywood heavyweights like Steven Spielberg and Kate Capshaw, as well as Jeffrey and Marilyn Katzenberg.
