Back in April 2016, Freeform (formerly ABC Family) announced that it was working on its first Marvel television series called Cloak and Dagger—a live action take on the story of two teenagers grappling with newly acquired superpowers.

Thursday, the network finally gave the series a June 7 premiere date and shared a three minute sneak peek. For the majority of the clip, Cloak and Dagger comes across like a fairly normal teenage romance story, until one of the characters' hands starts glowing.

Giving a little more insight into the show's plotline, Marvel released a press statement that explains, "The story of Tandy Bowen (Olivia Holt) and Tyrone Johnson (Aubrey Joseph)—two teenagers from very different backgrounds, who find themselves burdened and awakened to newly acquired superpowers which are mysteriously linked to one another. Tandy can emit light daggers and Tyrone has the ability to engulf others in darkness. They quickly learn they are better together than apart, but their feelings for each other make their already complicated world even more challenging."

The series will reportedly star Olivia Holt (I Didn’t Do It), Aubrey Joseph (Run All Night), Andrea Roth (Rescue Me, Blue Bloods), Gloria Reuben (ER, Mr. Robot), Miles Mussenden (Bloodline, Queen Sugar), Carl Lundstedt (Grey’s Anatomy, Conviction), James Saito (Life of Pi, The Devil’s Advocate), and J.D. Evermore (True Detective, The Walking Dead).
