EnglishΒ Game of ThronesΒ actressΒ Hannah Waddingham is making history as the first woman to portray DC's characterΒ Jax-Ur, who will appear in Syfy's upcoming seriesΒ Krypton.

Jax-Ur first appeared in 1961's Adventure Comics #289 and has since been the self-described "worst criminal in the Phantom Zone." (Although the scientist manages to escape many times.) But since the debut over 50 years ago, this willΒ technically be the first time thatΒ Jax-UrΒ appears on a TV series as well. The character had a small role in the filmΒ Man of Steel, and Smallville brought a similar character, Dax-Ur, on board in season 7.

Viewers will get to see the Krypton scientist working before getting imprisoned in the Phantom Zone.Β Krypton will be a surprisingly previously unexplored story of the planet years before (spoiler alert) it gets destroyed and Jor-El sends his son to Earth to become Superman.

Waddingham is best known for portraying Game of Thrones' Septa Unella (or you might remember her as the nunΒ who shouts "SHAME. SHAME. SHAME" atΒ CerseiΒ inΒ the show's season 5 finale.) Now Waddingham will step into the spotlight as Krypton's troublesome Jax-Ur. And the alum of Syfy's 12 MonkeysΒ series is definitely looking forward to it.
