Emilia Clarke Is Tired of People Associating 'Game of Thrones' With Sex and Nudity

'Game of Thrones' is more than just a show revolving around sex and nudity, or at least, that's what Emilia Clarke wants us to believe.

Ian McShane once infamously describedGame of Thrones as being "only tits and dragons." As shrewd as that summary may have been, it was kinda spot-on. While the series has experienced an influx in dragon appearances over the last few years, it's a well known fact that there has been plenty of nudity throughout the show's seven-season run.

In an interview with Harper's Bazaar, Emilia Clarke expressed her annoyance towards the latter part of the show's reputation. "I'm starting to get really annoyed about this stuff now because people say, 'Oh, yeah, all the porn sites went down when Game of Thrones came back on.' I'm like, 'The Handmaid's Tale?' I fucking love that show, and I cried when it ended because I couldn't handle not seeing it. That is all sex and nudity. There are so many shows centered around this very true fact that people reproduce," she adds. "People fuck for pleasure—it's part of life."

This isn't the first time Clarke has been outspoken regarding the sex scenes on Thrones. Back in 2015, she wrote a lengthy message on her Instagram, clarifying her perceived criticisms towards gratuitous nudity on TV.
