Every episode of SNL this season has had a political cold open that addresses current issues. On last weekend’s episode that featured Tiffany Haddish and Taylor Swift, it opened with a bit calling out Alabama Senatorial candidate Roy Moore’s sexual misconduct with a minor. With cameos by Vice President Mike Pence (Mikey Day) and Jeff Sessions (Kate McKinnon) poking fun of him being “too Alabama for Alabama” at the White House, SNL makes sure to educate their viewers on major headlines leading the conversation.

Tonight’s episode, which is hosting by Chance the Rapper with musical guest Eminem, SNL takes on Donald Trump Jr. and Wikileaks' Julian Assange's secret correspondence under a skit called "The Mueller Files." It opens with Trump Jr. meeting Assange in London, where he's trying to get some dirt on Hillary Clinton. Trump Jr. is forced to bring Eric Trump along with him and there are several jokes about him acting like a child.

If you need to catch up SNL’s cold opens, there have been skits that featured the return of Alec Baldwin as Donald Trump. One memorable moment was Jason Aldean paying tribute to the victims of the Las Vegas shooting by singing Tom Petty’s “I Won’t Back Down.”
