UPDATE 10/17/2017 4:33PM: Bob Weinstein's lawyers released a statement refuting Amanda Segel's sexual harassment claims. “Variety’s story about Bob Weinstein is riddled with false and misleading assertions by Ms. Segel and we have the emails to prove it, but even if you believe what she says it contains not a hint of any inappropriate touching or even any request for such touching. There is no way in the world that Bob Weinstein is guilty of sexual harassment, and even if you believed what this person asserts there is no way it would amount to that.”

Original story is below.

Minutes after reporting that Harvey Weinstein resigned from The Weinstein Company, Variety released a new report saying that his brother Bob Weinstein has now been accused of sexual harassment by an executive producer of the Spike TV series The Mist (which is based on a Stephen King novella).

Amanda Segel told Variety that Weinstein made advances towards her, inviting her out to private dinners. This is said to have been going on in the summer of 2016 for a period of three months, off-and-on, and led to Segel saying she would leave The Mist if Weinstein didn't stop.

"'No' should be enough," Segel told Variety. "After 'no,' anybody who has asked you out should just move on. Bob kept referring to me that he wanted to have a friendship. He didn’t want a friendship. He wanted more than that. My hope is that 'no' is enough from now on."

Variety goes on to report that an agreement between Segel and Bob Weinstein that she would continue to work on the show, as long as she was not in the same room or on the phone with Weinstein. The Weinstein Company also said that Segel had the option of not returning to the series if it was picked up for a second season (it was not).

For The Weinstein Company, it'll be interesting to see how this plays out, considering that there's already talk of possible litigation between Harvey and TWC, as well as talk—that Bob is denying—of a possible sale of TWC.
