In news that probably would've been more exciting before you sprouted pubes (but is still kind of cool), John Cena will be the host of 2017's Kids' Choice Awards on Nickelodeon. The network announced the decision in a statement on Tuesday after Cena teased it on Monday:

So @TODAYshow is calling ALL #kids @WWEUniverse to 30 Rock tomorrow at 7am for something HUGE! U think u know #RAW #SDLive @WWE C U There!

— John Cena (@JohnCena) January 23, 2017

He also tweeted it out in case, we don't know, you thought Nickelodeon would lie in their own statement or something:

That's right, @NickelodeonTV ... I'm hosting the Kids' Choice Awards! #KCA #PrepareTheSlime pic.twitter.com/8xW63QOyw1

Past hosts of the slime-filled scream-fest include: Mark Wahlberg, Will Smith, Justin Timberlake, Jack Black, and, very relevant to this story, The Rock.

Cena, who has increasingly been cast in roles outside of the ring, released a statement of his own and, judging by his usage of an exclamation point, was pretty excited about the gig. Oh, also he said he was excited. "Nickelodeon’s Kids’ Choice Awards is the biggest party for kids, and I’m so excited and honored to host this year’s show," he said. "I have a lot of big surprises in store so bring on the slime!”

The Kids' Choice Awards will take place at USC's Galen Center in Los Angeles on March 11. Mark your calendars.
