Chance the Rapper Will Release a New Project This Week

"I got that feeling when people do something that has a new feel to it..."

In an interview with the Chicago Tribune, Chance the Rapper reveals that his follow-up album to 2016’s Coloring Book will be coming out later this week. It also looks like his latest project will drop in conjunction with Saturday’s Special Olympics 50th Anniversary concert, an event that he’s producing and headlining, in Chicago. "I got that feeling when people do something that has a new feel to it," he said of his new body of work. "I'm excited for everybody to get that. It’s going to come out just in time for the Special Olympics."

During his recent appearance on Open Late With Peter Rosenberg, Chance delivered vague specifics regarding his solo work, confessing that he's juggling a number of tasks at the same time. Instead, he discussed getting in the studio with Kanye West to start working on an album, as well as divulging information on the progress of his project with Childish Gambino

Chance says that when he was visiting Kanye in Jackson Hole, Wyoming "a few weeks ago," the two "casually" worked on two songs. While there, West tossed out the idea of working on a joint project. "We’re up in the mountains around these wild animals — it’s very different out there — and we got some music done, and then he asked me if he could do an album with me," he said. "I don’t know of a timeline on it yet, the trajectory of it, but he’s coming here to work on it some more. We’ve just started making it, but I don’t want to manipulate the situation and impose any time frame, because that can hinder you."
