Buddy has been building momentum for the album throughout the year. He dropped the first teaser “Black,” a political song with ASAP Ferg, back in March and continued to supply more heat with “Trouble on Central” in May. Then he premiered “Hey Up There” featuring Ty Dolla Sign on Beats 1, and followed that with “Trippin',” which has Khalid delivering a buttery hook about partying and getting lit.
The rest of Harlan & Alondra serves up mellow moods that are perfect for summer nights. “The Blue” is all plush G-Funk and features the OG himself, Snoop Dogg. “Shameless” is an instant bop. And if you’re a real Buddy fan, you can always go back and bump “Shine.”
