Talib Kweli Calls Res' Sexual Harassment Claims 'Bogus,’ She Hits Back on Twitter

Talib Kweli released an official statement on the sexual harassment claims against him and "fully" denies "any allegation of sexual harassment." Res refuted his claims and is "looking forward" to seeing him in court.

Talib Kweli is in the middle of a lawsuit with one of his former artists, Res.

Kweli's lawsuit claims Res failed to deliver a "full length 12 track album tentatively entitled Reset"and used one of his verses without permission as an IndieGogo perk. It also states Kweli is "taking a loss on the tens of thousands of dollars spent out of pocket by Javotti Media (Talib's label) and Talib in furtherance of Res' musical career."

However, Res has a different story. Earlier this week, Res dropped a series of tweets accusing Talib of suing her because she refused to kiss him at one point in time. Res, who also accused Talib of having sex with women with the promise to help them with their music career, is countersuing the Brooklyn rapper for sexual harassment. While the two went back-and-forth in a heated Twitter exchange, Talib released an official statement earlier today.

“Res was dropped from my label Javotti Media in 2013 for disrespecting my employees and for failing to turn in an album I invested in. I am not holding her music because she never turned any music in, at all," it read. "In early 2014 Res started an IndieGogo campaign and sent a song featuring my vocals to fans without my permission as a reward. I asked her to stop using my verse, and she refused, so I sued her. Res then countersued saying that I sexually harassed her. I find her claim to be dubious in nature. Bogus."

Talib later said a judge dismissed Res' sexual harassment claims against him a year ago. "Res has not accepted this outcome, so she is using smear tactics," he said. "So, now she is trying to use the #metoo movement to bully me into dropping my lawsuit against her. I fully and categorically deny any allegation of sexual harassment."

Res went to Twitter to call out Talib again and said that he did approve the verse for the IndieGogo. She also added she's "looking forward to [their] court date."

I think everyone can see by the vicious tweets by Talib, not only to me but to anyone who disagrees with him, that he is a pro at creating an uncomfortable environment. He is clearly fighting his ego. I guess I should have been flattered by his advances?

the twitter debate of people who dont know me, trying to figure out if i am a liar.Breaking my silence on twitter is more about making him aware of his actions and their affect

The song that i wrote, that featured his verse was done/mixed and at the time he never asked for money to record it. It was approved by him long before it was released to the small # of people who signed up to my Indiegogo update https://t.co/yywHIrps8j was not up for sale ever.
