Soldier Kidd and Soldier Jojo Deny Rumors of Involvement With XXXTentacion's Death

The two Florida-based artists hit Instagram to dispute the not-really-needed detective work of random people on Twitter who were trying to connect them with the death of XXXTentacion.

Following the shooting death of XXXTentacion Monday, people on Twitter who suddenly thought they were detectives decided to try to pin the death on fellow Florida artists Soldier Kidd and Soldier Jojo. Now, due to the fact that tweets about this conspiracy theory started taking off without anyone bothering to check the veracity, both artists have responded.

"I been seeing a lot of comments," Soldier Kidd said on Instagram. "I been seeing a lot of things going on on social media saying that I had something to do with XXXTentacion. Listen, man, we got love for a Florida n***a. I got love for Broward. I ain't even know who the man was, you feel me? We out here handlin' business, we out here gettin' money. Bro, we don't got no time for none of this shit that's going on, but listen: All my condolences go to the man's family and whatnot."

In a separate video, Soldier Jojo also denied any involvement purported by the aforementioned tweeted theories. "I don't know what the fuck y'all got goin' on," he said. "But XXXTentacion? I don't even know how to say cuz's name. I don't even know cuz. I didn't even listen to cuz's music, but from what I know cuz was a real ass n***a. I respect [him]. ... I respect that man for who he is and RIP to that man."

The tweeted claims started circulating after someone tried to connect Kidd and Jojo with the reported descriptions of the suspects, specifically TMZ's initial report alleging that dispatch had described the suspected shooter as "wearing a red mask." The suspects, who have not been identified by police, are said to have fled the scene in a "dark colored SUV."

The 20-year-old XXXTentacion, born Jahseh Dwayne Onfroy, was killed Monday afternoon while leaving a local motorcycle store. At the time of his death, he was awaiting trial for a domestic abuse case dating back to 2016. Kanye West, Travis Barker, Diplo, Juicy J, and other fellow artists shared their condolences on social media.
