Continuing his steady stream of music releases, Compton-bred rapper Buddy has teamed up with Ty Dolla Sign on a new record called “Hey Up There.” It marks the latest single off Buddy’s long-awaited debut album, following “Trouble on Central” and the ASAP Ferg-assisted song “Black.”

“Hey Up There” was also accompanied by an uplifting music video that finds Buddy and Co. showing love to the city that raised him. The visual includes shots of the Compton/Woodley Airport and Tomorrow’s Aeronautical Museum, both of which reportedly played major roles in Buddy’s childhood imagination.

You can check out the visual above.

“Hey Up There” officially premiered Wednesday, during Buddy’s interview with Ebro Darden on Beats 1. The rapper discussed a wide range of topics, including his forthcoming appearance at the 2018 BET Awards, his tour with ASAP Ferg, and his first encounter with Rihanna.

“I met Rihanna about last Coachella—like, two or three Coachellas ago. I’m on acid watching Schoolboy Q doing the Lil B cook dance with my shirt off drenched in sweat,” Buddy said. “She’s like, in the little Gucci diamond bodysuit—remember that year? She’s walking by in the crowd with security, and we catch eyes […] I start turning up more, get a little closer, we’re dancing together now, and then her security was just like, ‘This nigga on drugs.’ […] They wasn’t fucking with me, you know?”

Thankfully, his second run-in with RiRi went a little smoother. You can check out the interview clip here.

Shortly before his appearance on Beats 1, Buddy announced the title, as well as the release date of his first studio album, Harlan & Alondra. The 12-track project is available for pre-order now, and is expected to drop July 20.

My debut album drops July 20th ‘Harlan & Alondra’ are the cross streets to where I grew up in Compton, and the inspiration for my music. 🏡 Shoutout to @oldmanebro premiering my new song ‘Hey Up There’ ft @tydollasign & @kentjamz_ today 5pm EST / 2pm PST. 🙌🏿 pic.twitter.com/LSjaIEYAZm
