A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie Goes Global With New 'International Artist' Project

Nav, Alkaline, Davido, Jessie Reyez, Tory Lanez, Kap G, and J Alvarez come together on A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie's globally conscious new project 'International Artist.'

Ahead of his performance amid BET Awards pre-show festivities this Sunday, A Boogie wit da Hoodie has shared his new eight-song project International Artist.

The title sets up a bit of a theme for the project, which—as A Boogie previously teased—gives fans a truly universal experience by bringing together "eight different vibes from across the globe." That approach resulted in a feature on each track, including memorable turns from Nav and Tory Lanez. Kojo Funds, Alkaline, and Jessie Reyez are also among the artists wh'’ve contributed to A Boogie's latest batch of new music.

The new project's title also serves as an apt description of what A Boogie wit da Hoodie is aiming for in the years ahead. Speaking with Forbes back in January on "the art of being self-made," he named JAY-Z and 50 Cent as early inspirations on his branding. "I always looked up to people who did more than just rap or focus on music," he said. "I'm inspired by the people who put their different talents to use and turned it into something bigger. They became more than artists."

International Artist follows last year's full-length studio debut The Bigger Artist, which boasts the sleek melancholia of "Drowning" and the Scott Storch-produced "Unhappy." According to A Boogie, fans can expect a proper follow-up to arrive "soon."
