Mobb Deep’s former management company is suing for half a million dollars.
According to TMZ, Buck 50 Productions says they managed Havoc and Prodigy from 2010 until 2017, when Prodigy died of accidental chocking while receiving treatment for sickle-cell anemia. Buck 50 claims they handled Mobb’s recording and endorsement deals, booked their tour dates, and also gave the members advances that were allegedly never paid back.
According to the lawsuit, Mobb owes the company at least $500,000.
Havoc’s representatives have yet to publicly respond to the lawsuit.
About a month ago, Havoc announced another Mobb album would arrive sometime in 2018. The 43-year-old rapper spoke about the project during an appearance on MSNBC’s The Beat.
“The way I'm reflecting on it is I'm just trying to keep the legacy alive,” he said when asked about the way he was coping with Prodigy’s death. “We deserve that, and I'm actually currently working on the new album in conjunction with the family. It'll be out there pretty soon. Before the end of the year it’ll be out.”
