All the way back in 2012, Nicki Minaj released the video for the Chris Brown-featuring single, "Right By My Side." The Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded song's video featured Nas playing Nicki Minaj's love interest, and at the time Minaj was still going out with Safaree Samuels. Nothing was said about the video at the time, despite the fact Nicki and Nas shared a kiss, but now Samuels admits he definitely had a problem with it.

Samuels revealed that he was actually there as the video was being filmed. "I was there," he said on the Easily Offended podcast. "You wanna know what's so crazy? I didn't know it happened until the video came out. I ain't gonna lie... I was hurt when that shit happened."

He added that while he was okay with similar interactions in Minaj's videos with Drake and Lil Wayne, this felt different. "Before that, I used to be able to [say], 'Great. Give Drake a lap dance, great. Wayne. It was all love.' That was whatever, but I was there the whole day, I was like, 'Damn, did that happen when I left?' I must have left for like an hour. I think that's when that scene happened."

After eight months of dating, Minaj and Nas officially called it quits in January.
