Grime Community Mourns Loss of MC Stormin to Skin Cancer

He was diagnosed back in 2016.

After a lengthy battle with skin cancer, grime MC Stormin has passed. Metro confirmed the reports this morning, while the grime community mourned his passing across social media. Stormin, alongside D Double E, Footsie, and Jammer, was a member of influential grime outfit N.A.S.T.Y. Crew. Known around the UK as an underground legend, he was also a member of drum 'n' bass crew SASASAS.

Diagnosed with skin cancer in 2016, the MC talked about his experiences with the disease on his 2016 album Be Right Back. He was releasing music all the way up until his passing, having just released a single with Jevvo titled "Money Gram" earlier this month. Last November, he tweeted that he was "cancer free," but his health deteriorated again this year. He posted about his battle on Instagram on February 9 with a picture of him in a hospital bed that read, "keeping strong and fighting hard."

Fans and close friends alike have taken to Twitter and Instagram to share their thoughts and prayers with his family and friends, with Giggs calling him a "grime legend." He added, "I've been seeing him thru Instagram battling with skin cancer. Now this morning I see this, so sad. Life is too short man, my prayers go out to him and his family." Skepta also paid tribute to the MC, among many others.
