Gucci announced his next album, The Evil Genius, at the end of December. Rocky recently revealed he had finished his new album.
"We got new shit," Rocky told the crowd during a recent performance in Berlin. "A lot of y'all don't know, but the only reason I came to Berlin is to finish my album that I just finished."
Rocky has previously described his new album as continuing in the experimental direction he explored on 2015's At. Long. Last. ASAP. "My new album is really about testing new sounds," Rocky toldGQ in October. "People are scared to test new sounds, so they go with what's current 'cause it's the easy thing to do. The top 100 songs sound a certain way. People cater more to that because it's a bigger demographic behind that, or it's a guaranteed demographic behind that. I prefer to experiment and have my crowd grow with me and to reach new crowds. I don't just rap—I actually make music. That's why it takes time. These sonics represent me."
Last month, Rocky dropped off "5IVE $TARS" and "Money Bags Freestyle."
