Childish Gambino and Eminem Announce Intimate Grammys Week Shows

Gambino is up for multiple awards this year, including Album of the Year.

Childish Gambino and Eminem are among artists set to gift fans with the chance to catch them in an intimate (i.e. non-stadium) environment in the lead-up to this year's Grammys broadcast. Both have announced shows at Irving Plaza in New York City days before the awards ceremony, Rolling Stonereported Tuesday.

The week of special shows, kicking off with Thirty Seconds to Mars Jan. 24, has been dubbed Citi Sound Vault Grammy Week. The National, The Roots, and Dave Matthews and Tim Reynolds will also be performing.

"We've always loved performing in New York," the Jared Leto-fronted Thirty Seconds to Mars said in a statement. "The energy is incredible and we look forward to bringing a special show to Irving Plaza." Ticket info for the shows can be found here.

Gambino will also be performing at the 60th Annual Grammy Awards Jan. 28. His third studio album, the 2016 Glassnote release Awaken, My Love!, has been nominated for Album of the Year and Best Urban Contemporary Album. Ubiquitous hit single "Redbone" is up for multiple honors, including Record of the Year.

In addition to Gambino's debut Grammys performance, this year's broadcast also boasts previously announced performances from Lady Gaga, Cardi B, SZA, Kesha, Luis Fonsi, and many more.
