Ty Dolla Sign

In Ty Dolla $ign's latest feature with Rap Up, the 32-year-old singer discusses everything from his appreciation for cooking and his new relationship with Fifth Harmony's Lauren Jauregui, to his recent collaborations with John Mayer and Mike WiLL Made-It. When asked about his recent projects, Ty expressed his interest in continuing to produce music with influential members of the industry, however he has his sight set on one artist in particular.

"I would love to work with Kid Cudi," he explains. "We share the same drummer. I’m sure it’s gonna happen soon. We met a couple of times. We talked on Twitter a couple of times. It’s coming. Dolla $ign and Cudi."

Ty is no stranger to collaborative endeavors, which he candidly broke down as, "getting different vibes, doing like 20 songs here, 30 songs there." The LA native has teamed up with many rappers and singers over the years. The list includes Rick Ross, Ludacris, Meek Mill, Juicy J, Chance the Rapper and 2 Chainz to name a few. Dolla even jumped on a track with his girl's group Fifth Harmony for their 2016 hit track "Work from Home." Ty is also expected to release content in the near future with Jeremih, 24hrs, YG and DJ Mustard.

The Beach House 3 rapper then discussed his recent track with John Mayer, who he referred to as his favorite living artist. "He’s a real musician. I respect anybody out here who’s doing this shit for the love of the music and not trying to be famous." Using the Mayer collaboration as a gateway, Ty explains that throughout the process of developing as a musician, he has made it clear that he is not a rapper, and instead more of a singer.

As we have seen Ty grow as an artist, he's sure to continue producing quality content in the year to come. Maybe we'll even be hearing about an official Ty/Kid Cudi collab in the near future.
