Post Malone stopped by DJ Whoo Kid’s The Whoolywood Shuffle on Shade 45 for a wide-ranging conversation on touring with Future, working with 21 Savage and Kanye West, the increasing prominence of veganism, and more.

When Future announced the Future Hndrxx Tour back in July, Post was added as a supporting artist on selected cities: Tampa, Jacksonville, Virginia Beach, Baltimore, and Saratoga Springs. During his time on the road with Future, Post grew to respect him more.

“I’ve always been a big Future fan. He’s trap Jesus. He’s got a lot of soul in his voice,” he says. “A lot of haters don’t give him the credit he deserves because mainstream people will be like, ‘Oh, Auto-Tune.’ He’s a fantastic vocalist and he really has a lot of expression in his voice.”

Post says he’s able to relate to Future’s emotional ballads, tapping into his own experiences for his music.

“He makes some very sad songs but they’re still turnt up at the same time, so I can really appreciate that,” he says.

When he was asked about 21 Savage, Post says their chemistry was enough to create their hit song “Rockstar.” (Whoo Kid debuted the latin remix last weekend, but you can listen to a snippet here.) Fans noticed that 21 adopted the same cadence as Post, which only made the song that much better.

“He’s fire,” Post says of his collaborator. “I really wanted that energy ’cause he brings such a dope energy to records. It’s so easy for him. He can just say whatever he wants and it is fucking hyped. It’s good shit. I knew I wanted him on it ever since I finished my part of the record. He just delivered and it was fucking awesome.”

The conversation steers towards random things we always think about—like going vegan to be healthy. But Post says, “I think nowadays everything we do kills us. That’s all thanks to chemicals and a bunch of shit like that. That’s why I figured just do it. No point in going vegan right now. You’re already fucked.”

You can watch the full clip above. In it, Post also talks about Kanye's time in Wyoming.
