This year Chloe x Halle landed roles on Kenya Barris’ new black-ish spin-off grown-ish. In the wake of their acting debut, the sister duo returned to their musical roots, sharing a new video and song titled “Grown” to serve as the theme song for the Freeform comedy.

On the show, the sister’s play twin college students alongside lead actress Yara Shadidi playing Zoey. Shadidi and the sisters previously worked together on one of Beyoncé’s Ivy Park campaigns. Though Grown-ish is their first recurring gig, you may remember them making an appearance in Beyoncé’s Lemonade visuals.

In the video for “Grown,” the R&B duo uses VHS, Snapchat, and a laptop camera to capture themselves as they dance and sing their way out of adolescence. “Watch out world I’m grown now,” they declare during the chorus.

As teens, the Bailey sisters gained a following on YouTube, and in 2013 attracted the attention of Beyoncé’s management company Parkwood Entertainment. They signed to the company at the ages of 13 and 15. Now 17 and 19, the girls already have an impressive list of accomplishments that includes dropping their debut EP Sugar Symphony in April 2016 and opening for Beyoncé on her Lemonade tour.

Chloe x Halle aren’t the only musical co-stars of Shadidi. Back in September, actor Trevor Jackson shared a video for his track “Benz and My Wallet” and told Complex that some of his music may also appear in the show. “grown-ish is going to be crazy because there is no other show like it in terms of our content,” Jackson said. “This is real; anybody who has been to college, there isn’t one thing that isn’t authentic.”

grown-ish premieres January 3, 2018.
