OVO Sound Radio is back.
After a two-week break, the Beats 1 show returns with its 51st episode featuring a guest mix by the U.K.’s Tiffany Calver. For those of you who don’t know, Calver is a 23-year-old DJ, music journalist, and the host of a hip-hop radio show on KISS FM. She was also featured in Complex U.K.’s “30 Under 30: Music Industry Creatives Making Waves Right Now.”
Prior to Saturday’s broadcast, Calver promoted her guest mix on Instagram with a caption that read: “Exclusives on exclusives on exclusives mate.” And it’s safe to assume that the list of premieres will include a new track by the Weekend.
On Friday, the Canadian singer posted the latest OVO Sound flyer on Instagram along with the caption: “Down Low,” presumably the song’s title. The Weeknd teased the track on Instagram earlier this week, sharing a brief clip that included a Drake reference.
“Kick back on the whiskey/Virginia Black, I’m now tipsy/On the lay like I'm Nipsey/Spanish girls wanna kiss me.”
The preview arrived about a month after the Weeknd performed with Drake at the eighth annual OVO Fest. It was at that time when Drizzy announced a collaborative project with the Weeknd was on the way. You know fans have already begun to hold their collective breath.
