Dogs proved once again on Monday that they are nothing if not man’s best friend. In the best of times, and more importantly, in the worst of times, puppers are here to brighten even our darkest of days. Perhaps that’s exactly what one doggo was doing when he slowly drove by in the background of a powerful and emotive CNN interview with Marjory Stoneman Douglas shooting survivors, students Emma Gonzalez and David Hogg.

Chances are that if you caught the interview, you probably missed what appears to be a golden retriever or yellow lab in the driver’s seat of a pickup truck, creeping slowly behind the students on live TV. To be fair, it was hard to focus on anything else than the rousing points Emma Gonzalez was making. The student-turned-activist has become a central figure in the anti-gun movement; at one point in the interview, she calls the donations politicians receive from the NRA “blood money.” Fellow student David Hogg goes as far as to call the NRA “child murders” during the segment.

Anyway, around the five-minute mark of the seven-and-a-half-minute interview, the dog driver makes its appearance. Of course, the pupper was probably sitting on its human driver’s lap, but from afar, it definitely looks like the dog is driving the car. Furry friend cameos aside, the interview is definitely worth watching and re-watching. These young, brave survivors are holding the government accountable for gun violence in a way no adult has before.
