Twitter users are lambasting President-elect Donald Trump after he made an egregious typo in a tweet about China’s navy seizing a U.S. drone in the South China Sea.

“China steals United States Navy research drone in international waters – rips it out of water and takes it to China in unpresidented act,” wrote Trump in the since-deleted Tweet. He was referring to the recent controversy surrounding a Chinese Navy warship's decision to seize an underwater drone belonging to the U.S. Navy, which U.S. officials say “was lawfully conducting a military survey.”

In trying to weigh in on the issue on Twitter, Trump made a noteworthy error. Of course, he meant to write the word “unprecedented,” and he posted a corrected version after deleting the erroneous tweet.

But Twitter users never miss a beat, and the social network is now abuzz with jokes making fun of the President-elect’s very silly, avoidable mistake.

Merriam-Webster’s Twitter account, known for its iconic clap backs and brutal owns, led the charge by using their “Word of the Day” to give Trump an English lesson.

Good morning! The #WordOfTheDay is...not 'unpresidented'. We don't enter that word. That's a new one. https://t.co/BJ45AtMNu4

Some surmised that the mistake may have been a "Freudian slip," and joked about the significance of the word slip.

Trump deleted it, but not before I saved it. Freudian slip? We can all hope he, too, soon will be "unpresidented." #LearnToSpell pic.twitter.com/tRjYEYVMJl

Hot take: #Unpresidented was a Freudian slip. Trump still trying to get out of this before January.

It took Trump and his team 87 minutes to fix the word "unpresidented." pic.twitter.com/Bz7NxSqwlo

If Pres. Trump gonna tweet, can someone at least check his spelling? It's "unprecedented"...After 1/20 "unpresidented" might be a new word. https://t.co/M5FM9EgGle

Forget tax returns. Can we see high school diploma? #Trump #unpresidented

If only there were a way Trump could be #unpresidented the way you can #unfollow or #unfriend people you don't want to be around anymore.

Someone should let Trump know that when a word in your tweet is underlined in red, it doesn't mean "tremendous word choice" #unpresidented

Others pointed out that Trump somehow ignored the easiest way he could have avoided the typo altogether: spell check.
