Rose McGowan Tweeted About Being Raped by an Unnamed Hollywood Executive

Rose McGowan shared a story of her own sexual assault on Twitter this week.

Joining a growing list of women who have shared stories of their rape on Twitter in the wake of Donald Trump's comments bragging about sexual assault, feminist icon Rose McGowan tweeted about her own history of abuse in Hollywood.

The thread was posted Thursday in conjunction with a video she released this week for the political organization EMILY's List, and its project Women Can Stop Trump. Using the hashtag #WhyWomenDontReport, her Twitter posts highlighted the brutal double standards of female actors the film industry.

"Let me get this straight, Donald Trump. If I'm flat-chested, I'm not 'a 10,'" McGowan says. "If I get pregnant, it's an 'inconvenience' for my employer. If I'm breastfeeding, I'm 'disgusting.' If I have an abortion, I should be 'punished.' If I'm a wife, I shouldn't work because that's 'dangerous.' And you're asking for my vote?"
